Industry experts and panelists will give an overview of the defense technology cluster, explain how the Triangle stacks up against global competition, and discuss how Wake County and the Triangle region can become better positioned for future recruitment of this rapidly expanding global industry. The Triangle is already home to more than 63 defense companies.
Vince Sadd, director, global marketing, LORD Corporation, will moderate a panel of experts, which includes:
- James Reese, chief executive officer, TigerSwan
- Joan Myers, director of cyber security, Applied Research Associates
- Walter Skinner, partner, Williams Mullen
- Diane Zanetti, senior vice president and senior client manager, government contracting group, Bank of America
- Pete von Jess, chairman and CEO, USfalcon, Inc.
"The defense cluster has a real opportunity to grow over the next couple of years," said Ken Atkins, executive director of Wake County Economic Development. "Wake County is leading the effort and is focused on growing this area by working locally with the existing companies and recruiting new companies to the Triangle."
