This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTC program, was up 40.9% from November and up 104.8% when compared with the total of $218.16 million reported for December 2009. With a year-to-date total of $3,236.00 million, 2010 is up 85.3% compared with 2009.

February, 22 2011 Auto Belts Manufacturer to Add 58 Jobs in Ashe County

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that the Gates Corporation, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automobile belts and hoses, will expand their facility in Ashe County. The company plans to create 58 jobs and invest $4.6 million during the next three years in Jefferson. The project was made possible in part by a $100,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

February, 21 2011 Gov. Perdue Announces 120 Jobs with Eaton

Gov. Bev Perdue announced today that Eaton Corporation, a diversified industrial manufacturer will expand its Roxboro facility in Person Country to meet the needs of its global automotive customers. The company plans to create 120 jobs over the next four years and will invest $23.3 million to build leading edge engine valvetrain components that will reduce emissions and help improve a vehicles overall performance, fuel economy and safety.

Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Avgol, a leading manufacturer of ultra lightweight nonwoven fabrics, will expand its facility in Davie County. The company plans to create 42 jobs and invest $35 million during the next three years in Mocksville. The project was made possible in part by an $84,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

This total, as reported by companies participating in the USMTC program, was down 17.7% from October but up 81.1% when compared with the total of $175.68 million reported for November 2009. With a year-to-date total of $2,792.58 million, 2010 is up 82.7% compared with 2009.
